Comments:
The orthoscopic design is famous for planetary observations since a long
time. By using just e few lenses between the object and the observer this
design allows maximum sharpness on the optical axis, but also good sharpness at
the edges. A drawback is just the eye relief, which is comparable to those of
the standard Plossl design, and which makes the eyepieces not suitable for
eyeglass wearers.
The Baader orthoscopic eyepieces are of fine quality. They are blackend
inside, a really good manufactured field stop, which makes the edges of the
apparent field of view as sharp as a razor blade and suppress reflexes very
effective.
